# $AI utility & governance

The published utility model, with rollout status kept separate.

## The role of $AI

$AI is the token described in the Sleepless AI governance and utility framework. Its published total supply and allocation are set out on the [Tokenomics](https://whitepaper.sleeplessailab.com/economics/tokenomics) page.

## Previously described utility

| Governance             | Voting on gameplay priorities, item upgrades, future accessories and new boyfriend types.                        |
| Voting weight          | A VE-inspired approach: more tokens staked and a longer user history were described as increasing voting rights. |
| In-game purchases      | Exchanging $AI for in-game tokens used for clothes, accessories and upgrade cards.                               |
| Top-up discounts       | Discounts for $AI holders when obtaining in-game tokens.                                                         |
| Character competitions | Staking $AI to support boyfriends or girlfriends, with additional rewards described for winners.                 |

## Read the rules of the specific feature

The table preserves the previously published utility descriptions. It does not establish that every feature is currently available, or create a new staking rate, voting formula, lock period or reward schedule. Participation depends on the applicable product, contract or announced event rules.

This editorial refresh does not revoke existing holder rights or rewrite prior event terms. Questions about an existing entitlement should be checked against the original announcement and the official support channel.

## No guaranteed return

Token prices can change substantially. Staking, voting or holding a token does not guarantee a financial return or access to every future experience. Character creative direction and token governance are not the same thing.

## Five-year development plan

Our [Roadmap](https://whitepaper.sleeplessailab.com/roadmap) sets out quarterly targets for the first year and annual priorities through Q3 2031, focused on Web3 AI stars, AI entertainment and the long-term development of AI people. Creative and product milestones do not themselves change token allocations, holder rights or the rules of a particular feature.
